Default PokerStars player chat

I'm just curious as to whether or not anyone has noticed this or knows why it happens...

...but it seems to me like, every time I'm playing in one of the $2.20 MTT satellites (only played about 3 total so far now), Pokerstars turns of the player chat for the tournament when it starts getting kind of close to the bubble.

I know it's not my personal chat. I can still chat in Pokerstars. I just try to type something in the qualifier and a window pops up saying "The player chat has been turned off."

I've never played one of those, but I am guessing it must be to try to stop collusion, in terms of slowplaying (or just folding to the blinds) maybe? I bet it happens way more on a bubble of a satellite where all qualifiers win the same thing

i assume its to stop people saying "there's a shortstack on the other table, let's all fold each hand"

I know exactly what you mean POGO. As with what ouch said, it's to stop collusion between the tables by putting pressure on the shortstacks to push or allowing big stacks to fold etc etc.

But, so you know for further SHG Qualifiers, they turn chat off when there are double the amount of places paid remaining.

So, 21 places paid (20 tickets + $$$), PS turns chat off at 42 players remain.

Yeah, I think also that's simply to avoid people to talk about other tables. When you are talking about other tables, it's not fair to say that there's a short stack and you need to fold the blinds to get him all-in and so further.

It's nice from Pokerstars that they chose to do this to avoid talking about short stacks.

I think this is to prevent people from helping other players knock someone out to get passed the bubble.
like giving out a read on someone when hes bluffing.
then bubble boy can complain to Pokerstars and it would be on them. no it cant.
makes sence to me.
