"If you happen to be the type of person that is annoyed by the noise and chatter.... there is a solution. Bring your headphones...and...turn it up as loud as necessary" I'll drown you mother-fckers out if it's the last thing I do *turning your Motorhead up to the max*....you noisy fckers

![]() interesting, a coupla things though..
If you happen to be the type of person that is annoyed by the noise and chatter (and there will be noise and chatter when you play live, I will not lie about that), there is a solution. Bring your headphones, load your phone with your favorite music, and as soon as cards are in the air turn it up as loud as necessary to cancel any outside noise. It might make you seem like bit of a prick, but if you do not care about how these guys perceive you, you should not worry too much. But variance is a bitch in the real world as much as it is online. That clueless guy calls your four-times-the-pot shove with a gutshot draw because he can feel it coming, and hits it on the river. It happens. You are left with no chips and nothing to do. Do not let it get to you. Cross the street, get into that pub and have a beer or two. Have a laugh, relax. One thing is certain: there is always another tourney and another donkey eagerly waiting to ship his stack to you. And when you hit the run of great cards as well, you will feel like a demigod. 1. I wasn't even in the fking tourney.... 2. when you say things like, "if you don't care about your perception" and to wear headphones you should also tell them the pros and cons of such decisions... |

![]() That was well-written Ivan, nice job. I don't entirely agree with it though.
While you make some accurate points about how an online player will generally have an edge in poker fundamentals, I think it's misleading and slightly delusional to expect online players to come in to the live environment for the first time and immediately start crushing due to their "superior" skills. I feel like there are hurdles and challenges along the way for online players to become solid live players which have been omitted from the article. Our perception of the average live player is indeed fairly low but I believe that the player's experience playing live poker should at least count for something. He's going to have a better understanding / execution of "live poker" skills like reading physical tells, hiding information (poker face) and/or navigating through tournaments at 20 hands/hr than the online player does. I think most will agree that playing live is more fun than playing online. But saying that it will provide an "obvious boost to your bankroll" seems incorrect. Going to the casino/poker room involves costs that will hurt your bankroll such as transportation, rake, tipping and others. After all as you mention in the article, we are all customers to the casino. By all means, online players should be encouraged to play live once a in a while - it's a great change of pace from online games. But telling them they will crush live games just because they're successful online is giving them false hope.

![]() Yeah guys, I know, sadly, articles can only be 500 words, so I have to pick and chose what I put in and what I leave out, trying mostly for it to be engaging and interesting.
Thnx for reading and comments, they are very welcome ![]() Edit: leafos I don't quite agree with you either Leafos ![]()

![]() I think the article is good and well-written but you should maybe tone it down a little with how you're portraying the live players in such a bad light . I mean , use the word inexperienced rather than clueless for example

![]() Most poker players are recreational players, I even know guys that play everyday, their game hasn't changed in years, so yeah, there is a ton of soft money out there but at the same time there are those of us who know you;re an on-line player, you guys stick out also...

![]() If articles written become to long (too many words), people will take less interest in them.
Modern times, require what i call 2 minutes blogs. If i expect an article is too long, it really needs to be catching my eye for me to start reading it. Not really sure what kind of feedback your asking for. So ill leave out the obvious. The article subject is interesting enough as you can see from the replies here. What you did good, is personalize the article for the reader. So it makes it an easy read. The subject is pleasant and everyone that can associate with you one way or the other. They might not agree, but everyone knows exactly what your talking about. What i think personally could be better is choose one subject, instead of several. I know you have to deal with a maximum of 500 words. But i felt you wanted to tell more about how to build your confidence. But you ended up mostly on how to deal with annoyance factors. All in all, the article was a good read tho.

![]() I enjoyed a lot of it ivan nicely written. you have a very subjective view that online players should just crush live games simply because they have game theory and a larger understanding for certain situations. I tend to disagree with that statement, majority of the time online players struggle with live at first.
congrats and gl with all the success with it from TitanPoker.

![]() Definitely anti-climatic on the "whilst"-useage front. After such a proclamation by Willtakem I was expecting something pretty damn earth-shattering. I had my hopes raised high, only for them to feel a tiny bit dashed.
I nevertheless look forward to the next installment.
