Official $5 to $600 in 1 Week Prop Bet Info Thread

This is the official thread for all of the rules, information, and updates for the prop bet I proposed here:

After several days of deliberation, here are the terms and conditions that I've come up with and most people have accepted. Rules thus far are subject to change, upon further compliance between myself and the bettors.

• • All Games Must Take Place On Pokerstars
  • No FPP Games or Satellites, Including Freerolls, Play Money, etc.
  • If At Any Point In The Bet The Bankroll Is $0.00, I Lose, Bettors Win.
  • There Are No Rebuys, Once I Hit $0.00 It's Over.
  • At All Times, I Must Broadcast On Surfers Radio, Complete With Webcam And Audio. This Is To Ensure That It Is Only Me Playing On The Account.
    Note - Dr.Justice has arranged for a radio broadcast to take place throughout the entirety of the week, in which it will broadcast when I'm online and playing, and offline when I am not playing.
  • I am not responsible for any malfunctions with his webcam/microphone/surfers radio. I will do my best to maintain their function, but I am not disqualified upon them not working. I think my integrity is in standing order that I will not angle shoot this bet by "faking malfunction" of any of the above.
  • I will keep a physical log of all games played, much like a rail. This will include the necessary documentation that my bankroll is what it really is, and I'm not angle shooting by adding games I never played, etc. This will also keep all of my tournament ID's available for anyone who wants to double-check that I'm not cheating.
  • MTTs are allowed, but for any above the 180-player mark, I must specifically state in my log that I am playing it before the game begins. This is to forgo any discrepancy and also so I cannot win a tournament on my own dime and claim it to this bet and win. However, if I happen to bink a $600 score on some $2 MTT on day three, the money stands, and I am not disqualified.
  • Cash tables are allowed, and out of fairness I will do my best to post my first hand and last hand played at the table, so bettors can see that I am not cheating by adding up money I did not win at the table. Also, I will be saving all of my handhistories to my computer, so if at any point any bettor feels I am in error, I can make my total hand histories available to the public.
  • Bettors are not allowed to participate in Pokerstars games playing against me unless the game is their normal stakes. Thus, someone playing a higher game cannot sit, for example, at a .02/.04 LHE table against me. Same with SnGs, don't hunt for me at 9-man or 18-man games looking to play against me unless this is your normal stake. Be respectful of the bet. If I coincidentally play against you in a SnG or MTT, it is fair game. This is a respect clause, please do not abuse this.
  • God forbid, but this bet will be voided upon a death in immediate family, serious personal injury, etc. Obviously we'll deal with this only if we have to.
  • Odds have been increased from the last thread from 1.5:1 to 1.75:1. Again, the new odds are 1.75:1
  • I am putting up $200 to bettors' $350. (my $1 to your $1.75)
  • Min-bet: $10 Max-bet: $75

I STILL NEED:

1)A Judge - Someone who is not going to actively bet against me who is willing to make a fair and solid judgment in the event of accusation of bettors unfairly playing against me, me cheating (forging the bankroll, adding money, collusion, etc.)

2)An Escrow - (this person can also be the judge) - Someone with an extremely respected status on the forum who, again, is not actively betting against me. They will hold all of the betting money from both me and the bettors. This person must have very respectable Surfers Poker credentials and be accepted as an escrow both by myself and the bettors.

For now, even if you posted your potential betting amount in the previous thread, please post that you agree to all of the terms and conditions and your intended bet once again in this thread. What lower shares? I'm just putting it in "share format" just so I can count how many people are going

You are putting shares in this individually, as part of the total $350 against bet count. So if you bet $10, and you win, you will get back $15.71

the math for this is your bet, divided by 7 (1.75 = 7 quarters of .25), multiplied by 4 (4 quarters = 1, i.e my bet. 1.75:1)

$10 --> $15.71
$350 --> $550

etc.

sorry sir but this sounds incredibly stupid. If you think the odds are in your favour and you can only bet $1, do it, since you'll win in the long run. Your expected value does not change whether you bet $75 or $200. You should decide whether to bet is beneficial and then put in any amount you can afford to lose

It's difficult to say. I'm definitely glad I made the right choice to put this off for a week or so because this week is looking absolutely hellish as far as schedule goes.

I'm not exactly sure if I can start this weekend or not. I know for a fact I'll be busy either Saturday, Sunday, or both. It's Valentine's Day and its also anniversary with Ms.Barret, so we'll see how things go with that.

I would say tentatively this is either starting Sunday night or if that won't work, sometime either early next week, mid next-week, or the weekend after this. Obviously the earlier the better, but you can understand why I'm hesitant to start this until I'm absolutely sure there's no other underlying problems with my schedule I can't workout by pushing it back several days.

For now I just want to make sure all the bettors understand and accept the rules, and that we had an escrowe/judges (though I believe we have that covered now), and we'll figure out shipping as the week progresses, and by the time I'm ready to begin, we will.

Umm... I have a request, though... could you start on a Sunday? Also, is there some stipulation that you MUST play so much? I mean... for your binking $2 example, would you be required to at least play, say 10 SNGs per day for this? I'm just wondering.

I think the likelihood of me binking a $2 is low enough that there doesn't need to be an added clause.

I'm not sure if I forgot to mention this, but keep in mind that the second I hit $600, the bet stops, game over.

If I'm playing 10 $6.50 45mans, for instance, and my bankroll is $530 or something, and I were to win one for $84 while I still have 9 others going and the bankroll is therefore $614, even though I have 9 other games going and if I lost every one of them, the bet still ended the split second that at any point I hit $600.

Now, keep in mind, I have to be fair about it.

Lets say I have 12 games going with $6.50s and I were to lose the first 11 and then ship the 9th one. My bankroll was $590 to start and I lost 11 of them, putting my bankroll at like $520 or something. Then on my 12th game, after losing the first 11, I ship that last one for 84 (but hypothetically it doesn't put me over the $600 mark. this is merely hypothetically speaking). I cannot update my rail putting my one $6.50 victory as my first game played in that set, with my 11 losses post-ceding the victory, putting me over the $600 mark. Everything has to be chronologically fitting, but at some point, if I fairly eclipse the $600 mark, I win, regardless if I dip back below $600 subsequently.

Make sense?

I could hypothetically win the bet if I hypothetically grinded the $5 to $600 on the first day, so there shouldn't be any rule that I have to play x amount of games on x amount of days when there's a possibility it won't take 7 days to complete.

Keep in mind, I also go to school full time and am involved in several other extra-curricular activities and several other things, so despite my previous tendencies to grind the **** out of things, this is definitely going to be a challenge for me.

So... if you're 12-tabling, you count the buyins in the order of the TIDs?
